- At least two semesters of language courses in a single European language (French, German, or Spanish) beyond the elementary level (101, 102, 103, 104, 108, 109)
- Four semesters from among relevant offerings in Art History (082), Arts and Sciences (090) English (350), French (420), German (470), History (510), Music (700), Philosophy (730), Political Science (790), Religion (840), Russian (860), Spanish (940), and Theater Arts (965). Students may count courses taken under the 420, 470, 860, and 860 headings whether the courses are given in a foreign language or in English. Any course taken under the International Studies rubric that involves a trip to Europe may be counted, as long as course content includes primarily European topics.
- No more than three courses to be taken toward the minor within a single program, unless the excess course in question is an International Studies course.
- Up to two courses may be counted both toward a student’s major and toward the European Studies minor.
